WRHA helps young couple get a new start

Nigel and Natalie Hillman are “over the moon” after Warwickshire Rural Housing Association gave them and their two children a fresh start in a home of their own.

The couple and their children, Rhyley, aged nine, and four-year-old Lacey, had spent two years living with Natalie’s parents, after the rising cost of privately rented accommodation forced them out of the village they loved.

Now the Hillmans are settling into a three bedroom house in Fenny Compton, close to friends and family and only a short walk from the children’s school.

Nigel says: “When WRHA offered us a house in Fenny Compton, we were over the moon.

“We lived in the village for six years before we had to move back in with my in-laws because we just couldn’t afford to live in privately rented accommodation.

“We spent nearly two years with Natalie’s parents in Ratley, which is only the next village along, but it meant my mother-in-law had to drive the children to school every morning.

“Now my wife can walk them to school and they can play with their friends.  Our new house has a nice garden and it’s right next door to the park so it couldn’t be better.”

The family are now looking forward to moving their belongings out of storage and turning the property into a home of their own.

Nigel adds: “Being able to bring our family up here means the world to us.”
