Record turnout for Brailes

Our support of this year’s Brailes Three Hills Walk helped create a record-breaking community event.

Last year the event, which has become a local tradition, sadly had to be cancelled due to a lack of volunteers.  But thanks to our sponsorship and the support of other local organisations, this year, the Brailes Three Hills Walk was back – bigger and better than ever before.

A record number of 1,320 people completed the six mile walk on Bank Holiday Monday, along with almost as many dogs!  The route passed our Millers Way development and enabled walkers to reach the stunning summits of Castle Hill, Brailes Hill and Mine Hill, along paths which are not usually public rights of way.

Walkers then gathered for a BBQ with live music.

Rachel Locke, Chair of the Brailes Three Hills Walk, said: “The day was a great success with decent weather and a record turnout.

“After having to cancel last year, the great efforts this year and the sponsorship by local organisations like Warwickshire Rural Housing Association, really made the difference and ensured a great family Bank Holiday for many people.”
