Great Alne homes take shape

Warwickshire Rural Housing Association’s brand new homes in Great Alne are really taking shape.

Seven affordable homes are being built at the Salter’s Oak development, with a mix of two, three and four bedroom houses, plus two bungalows.  The scheme also comprises 10 homes for local market sale.

All the properties have been built specifically for people with a local connection to the parish of Great Alne, including the local market homes which, initially, can only be sold to local people.

WRHA is working with Warwickshire developer, Linfoot Country Homes, who have carefully designed the properties to be in keeping with their rural surroundings, with open landscaped spaces and a wetland area on the scheme, plus many indigenous trees and shrubs.

Housing Needs surveys showed community support for more affordable homes in Great Alne where people are being forced to move away from the village as they cannot afford to live there.  Thanks to funding from Stratford-Upon-Avon District Council and Homes England, the scheme got underway last Summer and is due to be completed in June.
