Together with Tenants

together with tenants

We’re committed to strengthening the relationship we have with our customers.

That’s why we’ve signed up to the National Housing Federation’s Together with Tenants charter.

What is Together with Tenants?

  • What is Together with Tenants?

Together with Tenants is an initiative from the National Housing Federation to rebalance the relationship between people who live in housing association homes and their landlords.

The Together with Tenants Charter sets out clear commitments about what residents can and should expect from their landlord, enabling them to hold their housing association to account on the issues that matter to them.

The Together with Tenants approach is brand new, and the first time that there has been an initiative to improve resident engagement consistently across the housing association sector.

  • What does this mean for our customers?

It means we are supporting the National Housing Federation's plan and embedding a culture across the Association that values the voice and experience of our residents, and strengthens the relationship between our residents and us, the landlord.

The Together with Tenants Charter provides a framework to help us get our services right and make sure we’re held accountable by you, our customers.

By signing up to the Together with Tenants Charter, we have committed to six things:

  • Relationships:

To treat all customers with respect in all interactions and for relationships between you and us to be based on openness, honesty and transparency.

  • Communication:

To send you clear, accessible and timely information on the issues that matter to you, including important information about your home and local community, how we are working to address problems, how we are run and information about performance on key issues.

  • Voice and influence:

To seek and value your views and use this information to inform decisions. You all should feel listened to on the issues that matter to you and speak without fear.

  • Accountability:

To allow you to collectively work in partnership to independently scrutinize and hold us to account for the decisions that affect the quality of homes and services.

  • Quality:

To ensure homes are good quality, well maintained, safe and well managed.

  • When things go wrong:

To provide you with simply and accessible routes for raising issues, making complaints and seeking redress. And for you to receive timely advice and support when things go wrong.

How can residents get involved?

  • What happens next?

Together with Tenants is an opportunity to work with us and to make sure that we make good on our promise of delivering high quality affordable housing.

Over the next few months, we will be working with our residents to review how well we were meeting the aims of the Charter and what we should focus on over the next year.

We will incorporate the Together with Tenants commitments into our Customer Involvement/Engagement Strategy

  • How can you get involved?

Take a look at our resident involvement webpage to find out more about how you can get involved in helping us shape our services.
