If you miss a rent payment
Falling behind on your rent payments is called rent arrears.

If this happens, we will act quickly to help you deal with the debt as quickly as possible. This may include agreeing a manageable repayment plan based on your income.

Please don't wait to contact us – our team is here to offer support and guidance. We will explore all available options to help but, if you don't pay or follow repayment agreements, we may need to take further action.

Legal action

We’ll do everything we can to help avoid legal action but, in line with our Arrears Policy, if you missed more payments, we'll take steps to recover the debt, including serving you with a Notice of Seeking Possession.

If we take you to court for non-payment of rent, you may be evicted and be liable for legal costs. Your chances of being rehoused in future will be greatly affected if you leave your home owing us rent, court costs or recharged repairs.

If you're having financial difficulties, please contact us immediately. And it’s never too late to reach out for help.
