Second site underway

Just two weeks after work got underway at Warwickshire Rural Housing Association’s first development in Broom, the diggers have moved into Long Compton where much needed affordable homes are being built.

This year plans are in the pipeline for WRHA to start affordable housing developments in six Warwickshire villages and with two already on site, 2017 has got off to a great start.

In Long Compton, five homes for affordable rent and four for Local Market sale are being built in partnership with Heyford Homes. Funding has been secured from Stratford District Council and the Homes & Communities Agency.

Development Officer, Neil Gilliver, said: “We’re gearing up for a very busy time with work set to start on all six sites this year. The new homes will make a big difference to these rural communities where house prices continue to rise and local people are priced out of their villages.”
